Thousands March On Pentagon Report & Special Invitation to help take back our country Sat Mar 17, 2007 6:54 pm (PST) http://www.kwtx.com/home/headlines/6552437.html Thousands March On Pentagon Anti-war Rally in Washington Christians Pray, March for Peace in Washington (March 17, 2007)--Tens of thousands of people upset over the war in Iraq are converging on Washington for protests in advance of Tuesday's anniversary of the invasion. The war began March 20, 2003. A protest coalition has a permit for as many as 30,000 people to march Saturday from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to the Pentagon. Marchers exchanged shouts with pro-war demonstrators as the march got underway Saturday. Smaller demonstrations are planned across the country. Friday night, thousands of Christians prayed for peace during an anti-war service at the Washington National Cathedral. An estimated 3,000 later marched through snow and wind to the White House, where police started arresting people for violating a requirement for protesters to keep moving. About 200 people were arrested. President Bush wasn't there. He's at Camp David this weekend. At the cathedral, The Rev. Jim Wallis denounced the war as "an offense against God."
