Hello all, This most recent blog posting is bad news for Xenophobic "Illegal" immigration opponents......
Apparently only 6% of the USs total surface has been developed. How can the "illegal" immigrants seriously argue that our country is being overcrowded by illegals "flooding" over the border if in spite of this flooding our country has only developed 6% of it's total land mass? The answer is they can't. One of the most interesting things pointed out in this posting is that Government currently holds 21% of our land mass. That's 21% too much in my never to be humble opinion. Vic "An elementary tactic of those in power is to sow dissent, so that those they rule become fearful of each other rather than angry at the rulers. The idea that millions of Mexicans threaten our freedom more than a few hundred congressmen is laughable. Mexican immigrants are willing to uproot their entire lives and leave their country behind just for the chance to breathe free! The idea that immigrants don't appreciate freedom, but the average complacent, state-indoctrinated native does is patently false. Immigrants weren't in charge when we lost our freedoms. White guys were. Millions of "illegal immigrants" threaten you somehow? Compared to your neighbor who votes Democrat or Republican and demands his Social Security? Puh-lease!"--"Importing Freedom: Perspectives on the Question of Immigration" by Stephan Molyneux and Wilton D. "I just came across a statistic that I didn't believe, so I had to double check it. According to the most recent survey taken by the National Resources Inventory under the National Resource and Conservation Service: Of our nation's total surface area, only 6% of it is developed. Forests and other rural land cover about a 23% of our nation; pastures, farms, and ranges make up nearly half of of our land mass. "Where is the rest? Well, 21% of it is held by the federal government. Americans would have to spread themselves out four times over just to match all of the valuable land that these thugs are sitting on. "Who says that America is becoming a polluted, overcrowded, and overdeveloped country? The next time someone comes to me with a petition for the federal government to add more lands under their 'protection,' I'll tell them to go get a life. It's the government that needs to free up land for private use, not vice versa." [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
