Sorry, I haven't had time to indulge in intellectual exercises for the last few
days. I am heavily involved with some serious, and immediate issues with the
men's movement, to include trying to save a little boy from a dangerous
situation locally. I will say this, however. I, too, have been to the Statue of
Liberty and read the inscription, which was right for the time. It detracts not
one iota from my thesis. As far as I am concerned, Austin is breaking the law
by acting as a sanctuary city, to the detriment of its citizens. Or does
citizenship mean nothing? I now comprehend the wisdom of the poetic line that
good fences do good neighbors make! Three consecutive generations of my family
did not fight for the rights of Mexican citizens to illegally squat in Texas.
We fought for the freedom of American citizens! And yes, these people are
criminals, for they have ignored our laws.There are established procedures and
quotas for legal immigration.Like I said, we can now afford
to cherry pick!
