Try as it may, it is futile, as the humanist scientific faith of reason, man-made law and science has brought forth astounding developments but the old, old evils continue. Hatred, Class Separation, Selfishness have not disappeared within the halls our expansive "evolved" educational system, larger fossil fuel consuming "efficient" dwellings and thousands and thousands of statutes and codes within our legislative shelves. It is an illusion. What we are left with are solutions that don't solve and remedy's that don't remedy and superficial empty blessings that don't bless. The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands or what he does in times of comfort and convenience, but where he stands and what he does in times of controversy and challenge. Who will risk their position, their comforts prized material internal combustion engines, material baubles and trinkets of the mass commercialized world, class prestige, and going beyond the call of duty and his life in regard for and devotion to the interest of others? There is something beyond the reach of the laws of the society. Genuine human to human relations is that which law books cannot regulate and jails cannot solve that is met by one's commitment to an inner law, written upon the heart. Man-made laws supposedly assure Justice, but a higher law manifests Love. No legal law of conduct can make a Husband love his Wife, or a Father love his children. A law make extract child support but it cannot make anyone provide the support of Love. No legal law in the world produces compassion, genuine Love.
