Julio, I've been here for a good while and this is the best-moderated forum by far. From the looks of your posts, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Fair moderating is virtually invisible to intelligent posters. To give you some idea, go way back and read when eric dondero was posting and you might be able to find some active moderating against overt ad hominem and prejudice. Beyond that, it usually consists of reminding a poster to not paste whole articles.
Subject: [Libertarian] Moderation Indeed MODERATOR'S RESPONSE: Julio, the main purpose behind my moderation is to keep the discussion on-topic. As this is a Libertarian forum, the posts should at least have something to do with Libertarianism. If you wish to post on another topic you may go to another forum or even start your own. I retain the right to restrict your access to this forum because it is my property (co-owned with Terry Liberty Parker). I exercise this right in order to keep this forum interesting and informative, and I have no obligation to automatically approve every submission. By moderating this forum I am simply restricting access to my property for the same reason that you restrict access to your home. Since when did Libertarianism mean open access to private property? Your accusation of "Orwellian" tactics implies that I am State actor using the threat of State violence to control the flow of information, and I'm not quite sure how I fit that description. I make it a point to allow opposing viewpoints onto this forum, specifically so that they can be challenged either by myself or the other members. As long as your post is in some way related to Libertarianism then I can pretty much guarantee that it will be approved. Too many off-topic posts tend to drive our readers away, and it is for that very reason that I try to keep the discussion on-topic whenever possible. I hope this clears things up for you, and I look forward to reading your future posts. ---Sasan ---------------------------------------------------- Are all these messages being read before being allowed to be posted? I've seen that in other groups, but if I'm not mistaken this is a Libertarian site. Am I the only one that seems a bit hypocritical too? I mean, spammers can be kicked out. But do the moderators want to make sure they approve of the messages coming out? How does that differ from the Owellian left and Bush administration, exactly?
