"Mutual coercion, mutually agreed upon" is the classic statement of a contract in which every party agrees that the group has a need to share costs of some kind, for their mutual benefit, even though when implemented the costs might fall by chance more heavily on one than on the others. It is a commitment by each party to accept that cost even though the party would not accept it if free to do so in the absence of the contract. It is the standard solution to the "free-rider problem <http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ Free-rider>" of game theory. Anarchists might want to consider expanding their position on enforcement of contracts to include injury as well as "theft".
