This isn't about convention costs or corporate welfare. It's about setting a bad example while the cameras are recording it all. You won't gain your freedom by showing people how badly you can behave. They'll just want even more government to protect themselves from the anarchists they see on TV and on the web.
But maybe if the anarchists and their socialist friends stopped damaging property and threatening to harm people, security for the "party" wouldn't cost so much. The violent anarchists at the convention are actually harming the libertarian cause, From: steven r linnabary Sent: Tuesday, September 02, 2008 7:48 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Libertarian] Anarchists attack elderly to make friends Well, Bob, it sounds like you are getting an education. On MY dime. Actually, this little "party" is costing me and other tax payers over $100 million bucks. From the measly $18.5 million for the coronation ceremony, itself, to the other $90-120 million for Homeland Security protection and National Guard protection (somebody has to protect you from the lower classes that are paying for your party). Not to mention the multi millions spent by corporations wanting special favors. Hope you are having a good time. But the arrogance you express is astounding. Simply astounding.
