DescriptionMany conservatives cheered President Bush’s efforts to increase
the comparative power of the executive branch during his term in office. Now
that a progressive president is in office, some of those same conservatives
are starting to have second thoughts. Libertarians have long been opposed to
any efforts to strengthen executive power. But could a stronger executive be
a better check on an overzealous Congress?

Join us Wednesday, May 13, as we discuss whether a strong executive branch
is compatible with limited government principles. Panelists include Joseph
Postell, assistant director of the Center for American Studies at the
Heritage Foundation; others to be determined soon.

AFF Roundtables take place at The Fund for American Studies, 1706 New
Hampshire Avenue NW. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres begin at 6:30 p.m., with the
talk beginning at 7. Roundtables are free for members, and $5 for
non-members (so join today! -

.

P.S. Be sure to join us at Darlington House ((
http://www.darlingtonhousedc.com/) after the roundtable to say goodbye to
AFF Executive Director David Kirby (
