Now that a progressive president is in office, some of those same conservatives are starting to have second thoughts. Libertarians have long been opposed to any efforts to strengthen executive power. But could a stronger executive be a better check on an overzealous Congress? Join us Wednesday, May 13, as we discuss whether a strong executive branch is compatible with limited government principles. Panelists include Joseph Postell, assistant director of the Center for American Studies at the Heritage Foundation; others to be determined soon. AFF Roundtables take place at The Fund for American Studies, 1706 New Hampshire Avenue NW. Drinks and hors doeuvres begin at 6:30 p.m., with the talk beginning at 7. Roundtables are free for members, and $5 for non-members (so join today! - http://americasfuture.org/join-aff/)<http://americasfuture.org/join-aff/%29> . P.S. Be sure to join us at Darlington House (( http://www.darlingtonhousedc.com/) after the roundtable to say goodbye to AFF Executive Director David Kirby ( http://americasfuture.org/blog/2009/04/congratulations-david-kirby/) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ ForumWebSiteAt http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Libertarian Yahoo!
