Dear Nic, I have tried to call you several times but your number is disconnected. How can I reach you? No. I did not promise to win the general election in November. Another candidate did make that promise but he was not a Libertarian Party member. He was just seeking our nomination. I did promise to spend up to five thousand dollars of my own personal money campaigning for election. (My book business is going well lately.) Nobody else promised to spend any money at all on their own campaign. I was disappointed especially because I was the only person really seeking nomination for the position of Comptroller. I really wanted that nomination. Instead, they looked around the room and found somebody willing to fill the otherwise empty slot, who even said that he did not really want it but was agreeing because otherwise the space would have to be left empty. There is obviously a lot of personal hostility towards me by some Libertarian Party members. I wish I knew the reason. It was obvious that if that other person had not agreed reluctantly to be nominated, that "none of the above" would probably have defeated me. I wish I could explain these events. Sam Sloan
