to make that argument you would really need to 1) understand the reasons it
was created by the founders, 2) and explain why they are now wrong

I doubt most people who have your opinion can do 1) let alone 2).

What we actually need is the end of winner take all single member
districts.  I think the us constitution may require those for congress.  We
could have a parliamentary style election in states, where voters vote
statewide for party slates.  I think we need referenda on the ballot to
change to that.  That would mean viable third parties, as a state could
elect 30% from party A, 25% from B, 20% from C, etc.  If you combined that
with a return to Senators being selected by state legislatures,we could end
the 2 party monopoly.  In addition having more 3rd parties in state
legislatures would make it more likely they would be visible enough to win
some winner take all elections for House of Representatives
