Talk about having a bad hair day, Sonia Sotomayor who ruled against Sam Sloan in the Sloan vs. Truong case on May 8, 2009, has been rewarded two weeks later for this ruling by being nominated to the United States Supreme Court.
President Obama, in explaining his decision, said that he will sleep better at night knowing that Paul Truong and Susan Polgar will be free to send out nasty emails impersonating Sam Sloan. The decision by Judge Sotomayor in favor of the constitutional right of freedom of speech by allowing Truing and Polgar to continue to send out pornographic newsgroup postings in Sloan's name was the key factor leading Obama to decide in favor of Sonia Sotomayor as opposed to other possible candidates, the President said.
