Press Secretary introduces Campaign Manager at 7:35. b.) Campaign Manager will give a speech about JWS and his accomplishments. c.) Campaign Manager will introduce JWS. JWS will give a speech about why he is running. d.) JWS will introduce SH as his running mate e.) SH will give a speech about her reasons for joining the ticket. John Wayne Smith Expected to Announce Candidacy for Florida Governor Long time political activist and business executive, John Wayne Smith (L), Leesburg will officially announce his candidacy for Florida Governor at 7:30pm on June 9th, at the Polk County Libertarian Meeting: Best Western Admiral's Inn - Azalea Room 5665 Cypress Gardens Blvd Winter Haven, Florida, 33884 Mr. Smith, a Leesburg native, served in the U.S. Army from 1965 -1967. He has run several successful businesses. A former candidate for Governor and State Representative, Mr. Smith has devoted his life to public service. His tireless efforts led to the deregulation of the transportation industry. He feels that career politicians have infringed on our civil liberties, and will fight for the protection of individual rights. "The corruptible are drawn to power" says Smith. "This is the reason why we instituted a constitution: to give the individual power, not the government". During the announcement, Mr. Smith will introduce his running mate for Lieutenant Governor, Mrs. Staci Henegar (L), Winter Haven. Mrs. Henegar currently serves as the Chair of the Libertarian Party of Polk County. Mrs Henegar is a previous business owner with a professional background in management and human resources. Besides being a mentor and vocal coach, she was heavily involved in the education of her children. Staci has also received awards in Sarasota and Hardee Counties, for her excellence in leadership, and for her dedication and hard work with the students .
