I agree with Ron Paul that the US government should not meddle in the affairs
of other nations and I would include Isreal which some conservative Isrelis
would welcome dearly.
The exception of course if the meddling was trurly necessary for the
defense of the US and in some cases this very necessary meddling may need the
US miltary because of a clear and present danger.
The only occurance that I can think of within the past 60 years where
meddling by the US miltary into the affairs of other nations may have been or
may soon be necessary is in Pakistain to keep the nukes away from the Taliban
but so far the government over there is keeping the Taliban away from the
nukes.
Going after Al Queda after 9/11 was necessary but it would have been far
better to let the private sector and the locals handle the problem although
Congress issuing letter of Marque not to the president as Ron Paul suggested
but to the priviteers may have been a good idea.
May Congress condem abuses by nations of their own people?
Sure and they should but they should not be so selective, come out
against North Korea, Sadui Arabia, China, Russia.
Repeal the sovereignty act passed in the 1970s which limits suits under
the Alien Torts act passed under George Washington.
Allow people around the world to sue their governments and their
government leaders in US state courts for economic damages..--- In
