The government IS "the biggest gun" by definition, and they
eventually rewrite the rules for themselves. Besides, there is
never sufficient incentive for them to follow the Constitutional
rules that are left to protect the people. The concept of
government is a logical fallacy; the fallacy of infinite
regression ("no one to watch the watchers", no "angelic
government" and all that jazz). Therefore, according to YOUR own
rules, it's "game over" right now.

Whenever you live in a country that has a government, there are
supposed to be certain rules that the government follows. In our
case, the rules start with the Constitution. You may not like it.
You may not agree with it. That's just the way it is. So...
If you are going to play the game, you have to follow the rules.
When somebody doesn't follow the rules, it is perfectly valid to
point the fact out to them.
Of course, if there are no rules, or you don't accept them, then
it's "game over" and the biggest gun wins. (You may say that is
the case right now and you are mostly right.)
