Get rid of government highways and government highway funding. Government highways work very well if there are no problems, but there is a problem every day. Riding on government highways these days is like going to the post office or the DMV.
If highways were privately owned, I think the major problem that would be addressed is traffic delays. Time is money, and competing roads would advertise their "on-time" superiority. Many technological advances could be brought to bear to eliminate traffic delays. I will not speculate on what such advances might be. I will leave that to the inventors and entrepreneurs who have their own money at stake. If I or any small group of people could know what innovations the free market would develop, we wouldn't need the free market and communism would have worked. --- On Tue, 10/20/09, Eric Miller <[email protected]> wrote: Boring! Libertarians agreeing with each other does not good tv make. Also they all love to talk about mass transit, but rarely if ever mention getting rid of highway funding.
