The people you call "bozos" must be Financial Times'  fellow UK newspaper, the 
Guardian!

they
are talking about, or, more likely, are deliberately spreading gov't propaganda.

Published today in the Financial Times:
"EU leaders expressed gratitude to the US for keeping open the airport in 
Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital, and said they had received no complaints from 
non-governmental organisations about the conditions under which aid is reaching 
Haitians."

Of course, some bozos will always find a way to express their hatred for the 
US, even when there's no reason for it.  Psychs. call that "projection."
