Unfortunately, I have to agree on a number of levels. We're screwed. About our
only saving grace is that there won't be a filibuster-proof Senate, but that
won't stop what's really important.
Gun owners can expect Heller to be overturned by congressional action. Expect
"felony self-defense" to be the order of the day from persecutors nationwide.
Hunters may finally get to feel the bite the rest of us have had to fight for
decades. I'll bet the NRA is already planning to spend the windfall they're
going to get, while selling us farther down the river. They're not the biggest
gun control organization for nothing, you know.
Expect the happy talkers to punish the workers for actually working. I'm
personally expecting my net to be down by a third in 2010, solely from the tax
increases. Cory and I both will be in a 35% tax bracket, then get hit with more
fees for stuff neither of us need.
Cory's gold-plated medical insurance will go away, replaced by a single-payer
plan that will declare him 4-F. If he needs to go back to the cancer wizards at
JHU, there will be no money to pay them, and even if there was Cory won't be
able to pay out of pocket on pain of imprisonment. I'll be 4-F as well,
punishment for not backing The Chosen One, as will anyone who contributed to Ron
Paul's campaign.
Expect rolling blackouts and even nighttime power shut-downs, as Obama's planned
cap-and-trade takes out every coal-fired power plant in the USA. We don't have
the excess capacity to make up that kind of loss. Alternative energy at this
stage will be little better than pissing in the wind, and forget about nuclear
power now that the liberals are in effective control. Now is the time to build
your whole-home UPS, and I would suggest a 72-hour capacity. The article from

Homeland Security will not go away, neither will TSA. The only difference will
be who is targeted for the No Fly List. We're effectively repeating 1933
Germany, where the conservatives passed the laws that were used by the Nazis
against their political opponents. A new Reichstag fire will not be necessary.
People seem to think that this will be a new Camelot. Not even close. JFK was
a member of the NRA. JFK had more real-world experience and had actually served
in the military. JFK could actually think, when he wasn't stoned from back pain
medicine or banging Marylin Monroe. What we have here is a Marxist with almost
the kind of power Stalin had. I'm wondering where the first planned famine will
