As one living (currently) in the NW Chgo Suburbs, I can attest to the
fact that the drought is here ... it has been over a month since any
recordable rainfall in Des Plaines, or any part of NW Illinois at all.
I'm watching a formerly-hardy lilac bush (probably 30+ years old)
outside my apartment patio wilting and dying before my eyes.
Much as I wish I could go along to Liberty Island, I still have aging
parents here; and my loyalty and duty is to care for them first and
foremost.
Not that I look forward to this, but once my folks pass on I'll do my
best to retreat to someplace uninhabited and ungoverned; and/or find a
group such as yours to join in my next life.
Best to all,
~~Suz~~

The great drought is starting in the midwest right now, with no grain
to ship to china there will be thousands of river barges for sale.
These barges would need some modification to be seaworthy, but the
price should be right. >>

An honest man can feel no pleasure in the exercise of power over his

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and
more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious
