Can you tell us how your project compares to Ragel (
http://www.cs.queensu.ca/~thurston/ragel/) and/or SMC (
http://smc.sourceforge.net/)?  It sounds like you aren't targeting
intermediate languages (like C) and are instead compiling directly to x86
opcodes.  Is this the case?
