Thrown off by Tony's inflammatory remark, I was not careful with my own choice
of words. I was referring to my test-program, which was able to discern
directory-changes on BSD, when using libevent, but not when using libev.
The same libevent-using method was not working on Linux, which made it
"worthless" in Tony's educated opinion, and I pointed out, libev can not be used
for the purpose even on BSD (can it?) -- which would make the method even more
"worthless" in the same opinion...
