Okay, connected the FT2232 without a USB-2.0 hub upstreams, the test programm ran without 5 second delay.
Now I have to find out if the HUB is broken. USB Transaction heavy programm without the USB hub however crawls now, as there is a 1 ms slot on USB 1.0 versus 0.125ms slot on USB2.0...
