I have to confess I really have no idea of what you are saying :-D

My current guess is that there is some SCL pin on the chip that I can
short-circuit (connect it to some VCC pin), but, as I said on my last
e-mail, for that I would need to break the plastic case, which I was
trying to avoid for now.

If all else fails, as the device is of no value anymore I may try
doing it just for curiosity ;-)
