ACK. FWIW we used to go further and remove all perl* and python* packages. Since supermin 5 / libguestfs 1.26 I stopped doing that, and the size of the fixed appliance has grown by about half: http://libguestfs.org/download/binaries/appliance/ Not sure if we should fix that however.
