You could try the binary appliance: http://libguestfs.org/download/binaries/appliance/
Instructions are in the README file. IIRC if you already have libguestfs built, you just have to set the LIBGUESTFS_PATH to point to the directory where you unpacked the appliance. Make sure you use the 1.20.12 appliance, as other ones won't be compatible.
