Hi,
I just stumbled on libjpeg-turbo, and based on the efficiency improvements
over other versions of libjpeg,
I immediately jumped on it. So I downloaded, built it and incorporated it

the standard -ljpeg, but I don't see any change in performance.

Besides what DRC said, I'd also check which other libjpeg you are comparing to. The one included in Raspbian? Because that most likely is already libjpeg-turbo.
