Guys, I just added a new method to the ExodusII_IO class: write_timestep(). It allows you to write multiple timesteps to the same Exodus file (which is a unique characteristic of Exodus). Just call it instead of write_equation_systems() (and make sure that you only create one instance of the ExodusII_IO object... so that it can just keep pushing results into the file). Note that this only works as long as the mesh doesn't change....
Writing multiple timesteps to the same exodus file makes it easy to generate animations using programs like Paraview, Ensight and Visit...
