Dear Roy,

The bad news first: Your patch did not fix my crash. However, it
again led to slightly differing residuals (the fourth version now).

Okay, good to know. Well, I will try to track all refinement steps in
order to make the problem faster reproducible. A lot of refinement
steps happen before the EquationSystems object is created, but I guess
I will have to track those as well. After that, only ~3 refinement
steps occur before the crash.

On 2 CPUs, it doesn't crash.

Best Regards,

Tim
