Hmmm... I was thinking of doing both only in debug.  But you are correct that 
flipping a bool is trivial (probably even compared to the function hop overhead 
we incur by using our Threads:: interface in the first place)... so I'll leave 
that to your discretion! 

I suppose I'll say that I might be able to find a use for it at some point in 
the future....
