7. The 2-D case is currently only valid for elements in the X-Y plane (i.e.
no 2-D manifolds in 3-D space). Basically, we're assuming that the curl is
always the z-component. Will need to do some math to generalize. This is
really a pain for cylindrical coordinates, but I'm going to start another
thread about that because we need to do something better for cylindrical
coordinates anyway.
