David Knezivic, I'll try and separate whatever Rb-relevant commits in case I screw something up, but I believe the API is already in place if you want to beat me to switching the examples.

    Roy just mentioned this on the user list.  I completely agree -
    anyone have heartache if I package up 0.9.2-rc1, complete with
    PETSc 3.4 support and preliminary blocked matrix support?
