How does the abstract submission work?  Are there specific sessions/topics 
you're supposed to target?  I checked out the easychair submission form and 
there weren't really any more detailed instructions.

Have you emailed the organizers to get more information about the coding days?  
How many people would you say constitutes a "critical mass"?
