It still might be nice to give users some "make install_library_only"
option for regular use.
It is possible to link a bunch of examples together into one executable
that behaves differently depending on its name (for example).
... Is this something that normal people do in practice? Or is it
just the sort of thing an Obfuscated C Code Contest winner does when
language-only madness gets too boring and no longer calms the shakes?
