Shouldn't gcc be doing that for you when you link? Are you sure the g++ you are using is the same one that libMesh was built with? What if you change

I have installed my own version of gcc and to get the executable to run, I need to add the gcc run time path to the compile command. -Wl,-rpath, $GCC_HOME/lib64 where $GCC_HOME is my build directory for gcc. I'm not familiar with autoconf, but to get the libmesh-config tool to do this for me, what configure file do I need to modify? aclocal.m4? configure.in? prophecy$ g++ -o ex9 ex9.C exact_solution.C `$LIBMESH_DIR/contrib/bin/libmesh-config --cxxflags --include --ldflags` prophecy$ ./ex9 ./ex9: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by ./ex9) ./ex9: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.10' not found (required by ./ex9) ./ex9: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.2' not found (required by ./ex9) ./ex9: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.2' not found (required by /org/groups/oden/LIBRARIES/LIBMESH/libmesh_r2963-gcc_4.3.1-mpich2_1.0.7-dbg/lib/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu_dbg/libmesh.so) ./ex9: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.10' not found (required by /org/groups/oden/LIBRARIES/LIBMESH/libmesh_r2963-gcc_4.3.1-mpich2_1.0.7-dbg/lib/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu_dbg/libmesh.so) ./ex9: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by /org/groups/oden/LIBRARIES/LIBMESH/libmesh_r2963-gcc_4.3.1-mpich2_1.0.7-dbg/lib/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu_dbg/libmesh.so) the below command works. prophecy$ g++ -o ex9 ex9.C exact_solution.C -Wl,-rpath,$GCC_HOME/lib64 `$LIBMESH_DIR/contrib/bin/libmesh-config --cxxflags --include --ldflags` thank you, df ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Libmesh-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/libmesh-users ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Libmesh-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/libmesh-users
