Dear all,

Back from my vacation, I surprisingly got a new computer in my office.
This is now a 64-bit system. Compiling libMesh yields the following
error message:

Linking
/home/tim/fem-libs/libMesh/libmesh-svn/libmesh/lib/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu_dbg/libmesh.so
/usr/X11R6/bin/ld: /usr/local/lib/libmpich.a(allreduce.o): relocation
R_X86_64_32S against `MPIR_ThreadSingle' can not be used when making a shared
object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/local/lib/libmpich.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: ***
[/home/tim/fem-libs/libMesh/libmesh-svn/libmesh/lib/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu_dbg/libmesh.so]
 Fehler 1

I am using a newly installed mpich2-1.1.1p1. I tried to recompile
that with "-fPIC", but that didn't help. Are there any hints what I
might have done wrong?

Best Regards,

Tim
