1.7.1 at the moment, but I think I've used 1.5.something earlier with
no problems.

But I guess the important program for the graphs is "dot"?  Mine
claims

royst...@mycroft:~/libmesh/svn$ dot -V
dot - graphviz version 2.26.3 (20100126.1600)

But a lot of these graphics programs have more configure-time options
than we do; even if your version is newer it's possible that your
build just had something or other disabled.

I'm hoping to do an update soon to rectify our grossly lapsed online
example docs; since my dot settings seem to be generating nicer fonts
and graph arrows those will be cleaned up too.
