All,
     Performance tests have revealed that the current implementation
of the patch recovery error estimator
(patch_recovery_error_estimator.C) is expensive, primarily due to
repeated calls to reinit. This is necessitated by the fact that the
current implementation builds a brand new patch for every element. We
would be able to save significant expense by reusing patches, which,
although not as accurate will be more efficient and asymptotically
correct.

We plan to make patch_reuse the default implementation, if there are
questions/concerns regarding this, please let us know.
