Nope, we've been trying to make a small, templated, dynamic cast
example that would hopefully fail in a similar manner to no avail.
Note that the exact same code works just fine when we build without
shared libraries. Truly bizarre!  Hopefully I will get a little more
time to explore the issue.  As it stands now, I don't think we have a
very good example to file a bug report with.
