I'm resending with attachments.
On my end it looks like the logs were attached to the original email.
Is it possible the mailer on the sourceforge side stripped them off?
It looks like my problem is the same or of a similar origin to Roy's.
Note, however, that while I'm having problems on an Ubuntu system, I
routinely build and configure without a problem on another Ubuntu box.
Thanks.
Dmitry.

Subject: Problem configuring libmesh
To: [email protected]
Hi,
I keep running into an odd problem while configuring libmesh.
I suspect that it has to do with the way the machine I'm trying to build on
is configured,
but I would appreciate any help in tracking down the problem.
The symptoms are these: configure finds petsc, but leaves PETSCINCLUDEDIRS
and
PETSCLINKLIBS blank, which results in an
insufficient libmesh_optional_INCLUDES, which
in turn results in a failure to find petsc.h at build time. I imagine that
linking would similarly
fail.
I used to be able to configure and build on this machine in the
pre-autotools days.
I'm attaching config.log and make.log.
Thanks.
Dmitry.
