I'd like to have libMesh (on the git head) configured with both real numbers and complex numbers. I currently do this by having two copies of the source: libmesh-src-real and libmesh-src-complex and configure each one appropriately and install into libmesh-real and libmesh-complex, respectively.
I just wanted to check that this is a reasonable approach? I thought it'd be nice if I could have just one copy of the source, but then it seems I need to reconfigure every time I make a change to the source and re-build (since the configuration files get over-written).
