Thanks for your prompt response. I just realize the last post about "infinite element" on the mailing list is a decade ago.. It looks like Steffen were at Standford at that time. I'll go through the webpages you point out, and see what I can do.

The person that wrote those has not been active in libMesh development for a long while.
