Ah, yes, you are right and there is an old thread about this that I had

I've started a new issue for this here:

One simple fix may be to revert the changes to the run.sh files in
https://github.com/libMesh/libmesh/commit/b4d47091f992bf2d01b6ac37d5dcb6f9797c4ab0
