Maybe because the request-headers contain "Connection: close"?
This is what I could determine with `gdb`:

Accept: */*
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 95)
Cache-Control: no-cache
