Good evening Dave! Dave Laird wrote to Lowell C. Savage...
Lowell, 'Savaged' you, and everyone else in suggesting: > > You've certainly laid out an ambitious set of goals. I'm not sure that > > anyone can do much more than move things in that direction. To which, you replied: > I am probably as skeptical as the next guy when it comes to believing such > an improbable list of achievements would ever take place in (a) my life, > (b) the next century, or (c) the next millennium. Of course, if it really > DID happen, we could all become rich entepreneurial goombahs and gleefully > sell lawn chairs so everyone would have a place from which to sit and > watch the proceedings. Well, good luck! That is, is in perhaps believing Lowell shares your same goals, notwithstanding his apparent heartfelt belief that those running the show in the current Shrub Regime<tm> represent him, his interests, and his ambitious 'goals' whatever they may be. These goals certainly aren't mine. So, you might do well here to fold up the lawn chairs, get up and return to a normal skeptical attitude, because current realities don't seem to bode very well for watching much of anything, except perhaps an acceleration of the 'Anti-US government mindset' as it unfolds in countless corners of the world. In saying this, I do have to lay the blame here entirely on the phony sophistry employed by Lowell, and others who suggest we are represented by this tyranny that seems to believe it has unlimited authority to rule the planet on our behalf, even whether or not we voted for this monster or not! That is pretty much what Lowell has suggested. I will state plainly and clearly that I do not, and will not support this insanity, and will use whatever opportunity may exist, or present itself at my disposal, to not only disagree with it, but deplore it for what it is, an immoral and insane abuse of power and authority. Such blatant aggression as what this regime in power is doing in Iraq today, with the countless bodies of young American men and women coming home in body bags, is a tremendous disgrace to our moral character as Americans. I am strongly opposed to Lowell's sophistry here, that my 'credibility' is being called into question, because I dare to suggest that I have no responsiblity to assume that these bastards in charge of our present government represent me! You might want to think about that for a while before responding to this post! Because there are a group of individuals around here that seem to believe that this present Regime in office today, represents them! Maybe it does... but they certainly can't speak for me, and I wholeheartedly suggest right now, that THIS present regime in office most certainly does not enjoy my support, respect or allegiance in any way whatsoever.
