Good evening again, Dave!
First Dave, I want to thank you for alerting this to me yesterday and again today when the paper fired its' second salvo at me. I knew the first one was coming after the SR's (Spokesman-Review) stringer in Boise called me Monday afternoon for a telephone interview.
Dave Laird wrote to everyone...
Good morning, everyone... This appears in this morning's Spokesman-Review: BOISE * Three Panhandle lawmakers say they were disturbed and disappointed after Frank Reichert, a Libertarian candidate in last year's District 1 House race, spread an e-mail calling for the legislators to be "hauled out onto the street and hung in public display for their treason."
I have to be careful what I write here now, at least for a while. I know Liberty Northwest is a 'subscriber only' private group, but somehow the material I posted here migrated to our District's three Representatives anyway, and that's what started this stinking mess.
Most people who subscribe to this conference understand, for the most part, the English language, and understand the use of metaphor in bringing various points across better.
From the gist of the SR's Opinion piece published today however, it appears that they may be suggesting (for public consumption anyway), that I somehow might be guilty of a felony, threatening public politicians and lawmakers, which I never did. Again, you have to understand at least in a remedial manner, the English language in the first place, and then the simple difference between metaphor and deliberately 'physically threatening' language.
First, what you posted above is the lead off paragraph to yesterday's (the first) article, published by the Boise stringer for the Spokesman-Review. That quotation itself was cut short to achieve a point, and left off the remainder, e.g.: "...for their treason." which should have read: ...for their treason against the individual citizen."
The part about "hung in public display" was what I was doing, and have been doing, holding them up to public display in the print media, in District local newspapers, and on the Internet on Idaho_libs, and Liberty Northwest.
If they feel threatened in that regard, then they certainly deserve it, since they are the representatives, who were elected by their own constituents, and who have then proceeded to sell out their own constituents on the altar of large corporate contractor interests in Idaho who want to grasp a monopoly in Idaho over the lucrative construction trade.
The piece went on to basically do everything in its power to make it
appear that Frank had, indeed, threatened Idaho lawmakers. Since the
original message written by Frank is still in the newsgroup history, I
went back and read it once again. The piece bears reading. If you have access to today's paper, you might
want to read the Cowles' spin on the matter.
I don't honestly know how much attention this really deserves, but it has already generated enough local heat to further obfuscate the fact that we have three District legislators, in District 1, who have sold out their own constituents in a treasonist act of shutting down perhaps hundreds, if not thousands, of honest small local contractors throughout Idaho, and assaulting property owners over their unalienable right to hire contractors of their own choice to manage their own private property.
Again. Thanks Dave for watching the machinations of the Spokesman-Review. I don't catch everything they write, since it is such a mediocre source of news or information, at least in much of the Idaho Panhandle, so I don't normally spend any time with it unless someone suggests that I should. I might also need to consult with personal Counsel on various issues surrounding malicious slander and other such matters without elaborating here further about that.
Keep in touch.
Kindest regards, Frank
