I've tried with the instant client (basic lite + sdk) and it was also successful: CPPFLAGS="-IC:/Progra~1/Oracle/product/11.1.0/instantclient_11_1/sdk/include" LDFLAGS="-LC:/Progra~1/Oracle/product/11.1.0/instantclient_11_1" ./configure --disable-utils --disable-nls --with-backends="oracle" The packages (basic lite + sdk) are zip file, which you can extract anywhere. I've extracted both to the same directory and the DLL can be found in the base directory while the include file is in the .../instantclient_11_1/sdk/include Maybe your setup is still screwed up.
