I think there is some misunderstanding. OpenDBX provides an ODBC backend 
itself and this is the preferred way on Windows platforms to connect to 
MS SQL Server. You need to run configure using

configure --disable-utils --with-backends="odbc"

But that won't solve your problem. That's why I asked you for the 
config.log, so I can see what went wrong.
