Well, loading a Scratch project onto the Java-based player in a browser isn't particularly fast. But yes, Howtoons are primarily designed for color-printing (try to "Download Printable PDF" on these pages and print, or subscribe the "Make" magazine!) and its design and format may not be readily applicable to the context of OLPC. The production value of a howtoon is like 2-3 person*weeks (if I remember correctly). So if somebody has a serious funding, one can make a less colorful version of it. But wait! There is something else. Arvind Gupta and his colleagues have bunch of tool-making ideas. One example is like this one: http://ebooks.du.ac.in/edu-resources/Resources/books/pumps.pdf and others on the web. http://www.cse.iitk.ac.in/~amit/arvindgupta.html http://ebooks.du.ac.in/edu-resources/Resources/toys.htm -- Yoshiki _______________________________________________ Library mailing list [email protected] http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/library
