Let me start by saying I'm not much of a programmer and, more to the point, I've never made a mobile app. However, the Madison Open Everything group has been tossing around the idea of doing something with Libre.fm in May and I think the mobile app may be what we settle upon. I'm assuming there's no standardization from RIM to Apple to Android/Google/HTC/whoever is in charge over there. I don't believe I've ever seen an OpenMoko in the wild, but I'm guessing that's a 4th architecture (unless Android using something similar, which I wouldn't bet on, but I could see it). I'm thinking we'd likely start with Android, since I know 3 of us have those.
I guess the point of this is twofold: 1) to inform you that this *might* happen 2) to ask you if you'd be interested in helping out. I've only begun to program with any real purpose, so while I'm familiar with svn, git and bzr I couldn't give an informed opinion on what it might be best to use. I'm thinking we'll probably get 3 or 4 people to help locally and at this point I have absolutely no idea when we might be done with something usable. Something I do know; we probably won't get started for a few weeks on actual code. If someone wants to beat us to the punch, by all means go for it. Thanks! Douglas A.
