I think the most important issue with artists is trying to catalogue them with various keywords instead of just one: ie. Depending on the user selected language if that is the case.
Going further, there should be a voting alike system so that users say whether an artist name is duplicated or misspelled -then redirecting to the artist main page or name- in the best tradition of Wikipedia disambiguation. This is one of the most problematic bugs in last.fm seen over time: Malón, malon, malón, Malon were four different artists, for example. If artist names aren't "rigid" headers but instead a collection of internationalized tags (with variable capitalization), there is a good possibility for solving such an earlier mess as far as I can see right now. iLiKETRAiNS is one of such "capital" considerations if somebody wants to jump over some kind of auto-capitalization feature. I hope I am not repeating somebody else. Best Regards. 2009/4/30 Carsten Nørgaard <[email protected]>: > Hi, > > Libre.fm should auto-correct artist names. If your default browser sucks and they charged you, for that crap then replace your operating system. _______________________________________________ Libre-fm mailing list [email protected] http://lists.autonomo.us/mailman/listinfo/libre-fm
