Hi,
The libre.fm wiki says:
« Rhythmbox has been patched in the upstream SVN repository, but that
code has not yet been released. »
The SVN commit says:
« Read the initial track submission handshake URL from gconf key
/apps/rhythmbox/audioscrobbler/scrobbler_url, allowing
it to be redirected to other services such as libre.fm without having
to modify /etc/hosts. »
Well, on Fedora 11 (to be released on may 26th), I do have this gconf
key wih Rhythmbox 0.12.1 ! \o/
It's working actually fine, I'm submitting songs to libre.fm right
now, _without having modified my « /etc/hosts » file.
Maybe it is time to promote Rhythmbox to the category of « release
clients that can be configured to scrobble to a single, arbitrary
server » ?
However, note that there still are a few issues :
- the plugin still is named « last.fm » in the Rhythmbox UI (even if
it's real name is « audioscrobbler », so that might be a trivial
patch)
- the Rhythmbox UI does not permit configuration of the scrobbler URL
(yet ?), this must be done by Gconf.
Best regards,
----------
Mathieu Bridon (bochecha)
